This one came out back in the 80s & its filled with a cool over the top future science fiction feel that you just don't get today. Anyone with an interest in the subject will immediately think of Dougal Dixon's book 'After man, a zoology of the future' (see my installment on 'Why there's no walking on tentacles' for a glimpse at one of his other works). It comes from After Man: A Zoology of the Future by Dougal Dixon, which speculates on the evolution of animal lifeforms on earth fifty million years after the extension of human beings. His other popular books include titles like A Zoology of the Future, The New Dinosaurs, Man After Man, and Time Exposure. The book has a story that After Man, a zoology of the future is a favorite of mine. As a kid, it blew my mind, and I still really want a pet Rabbuck. After Man: A Zoology of the Future is a rather cryptic title for a cookbook… I'm guessing that it's short for “After Man Leaves The Table,” or else it might be a sequel to To Serve Man. The art reminds me of the creatures from Dougal Dixon's After Man: A Zoology of the Future, which was based on imaginative extrapolations of future evolution from presently existing animal species. This genre openly combines elements of traditional documentaries with Speculative Fiction.
